## Voting period: 14 days ## Categories: Request for Action Social Proposal Constitution Amendment ## Abstract: This proposal seeks to implement an affiliate/referral program for Tezos Domains on mainnet, allowing community members to earn rewards by promoting domain registrations. Affiliates would receive 5% of the XTZ value from domain registrations made through their referral links, plus 10% of the equivalent value in TED tokens. This program aims to incentivize grassroots marketing efforts, expand the Tezos Domains user base, and increase domain registrations while rewarding community participation. ## Rationale: Tezos Domains currently lacks a structured way for community members to be rewarded for bringing in new users. An affiliate program would leverage the existing community’s networks to drive adoption through word-of-mouth marketing. Similar programs have proven successful in other blockchain projects, helping to increase user acquisition at a relatively low cost. By offering both XTZ and TED token rewards, we create immediate value for affiliates while also aligning long-term interests with the Tezos Domains ecosystem. ## Details: The affiliate program is already technically implemented. The system uses a query parameter `aid=[tz1address]` which creates an affiliation for 24 hours. During that time, all domain purchases and renewals made by the referred user are attributed to the affiliate. **Reward Distribution:** Rewards will be distributed bi-annually to all registered affiliates. The reward calculation will be performed offline by analyzing the contract blockchain data, identifying all transactions that were made through affiliate links. **Affiliate Registration Process:** To become an affiliate, users must register on the Tezos Domains forum ([https://talk.tezos.domains/](https://talk.tezos.domains/)) and introduce themselves to the community. This registration process helps ensure accountability and allows the community to know who is promoting Tezos Domains. This proposal is a successor to the previous draft proposal discussed at [DRAFT: Tezos Domains Affiliate/Refferal Link Programme](https://talk.tezos.domains/t/draft-tezos-domains-affiliate-refferal-link-programme/281). It builds upon the community feedback received and formalizes the implementation of the affiliate program on mainnet with the specified reward structure. ## Specification: Action #1: Activate the existing affiliate tracking system on mainnet, which uses the query parameter `aid=[tz1address]` to track referrals for 24 hours. Action #2: Establish the bi-annual reward distribution schedule for the 5% XTZ and 10% TED rewards to affiliates. Action #3: Create and publish clear guidelines for the forum registration process required for affiliates. Action #4: Develop a system for offline calculation of rewards based on blockchain data.
